Obituary of Beverly B. Bailey

Beverly B. Bailey Beverly Bayne Luce Hood Bailey, 85, was the youngest of five children born to Vivian and Eva Luce in Hoquiam, Washington on July 17, 1927. She passed away on June 21, 2013 of congestive heart failure at home, surrounded by her family. Bev was a devoted mother, a gentle soul who did not judge others. Bev grew up in Aberdeen, Washington and graduated from Weatherwax High School. On April 27, 1946, she married Stanley Hood in Aberdeen where they raised their four daughters, Renee, Richenda, Rebecca and Roxanne Hood. After Stan’s death in 1967, Bev married Glenn M. Bailey Jr. on Feb. 14, 1970, a widower with a daughter, Cheryl, and son, Glenn III. Bev worked for DSHS and SSA in Aberdeen. She and Glenn were active in the Elks Club. Bev was active in Masonic Eastern Star, a member of DAR, and a Master Gardener. They retired to live in Ocean Shores for 21 years where they were charter members of the Ocean Shores Methodist Church. In 2008, they moved to Olympia. Bev was preceded in death by her step-son, Glenn Bailey III, and her beloved husband, Glenn in January 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Renee Schrader (Walt) of Aberdeen, WA, Richenda Richardson (Bill) of Shelton, WA, Rebecca Sargent (Denny) of Seattle, WA, and Roxanne Hood-Lyons (Jarlath) of Vashon, WA; step-daughter, Cheryl Ericksen of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Angela Beasley (Mark), Leanna Olsen (Even), Ella Richardson, Vivian and Grant Lyons and Forrest Sargent; great grandchildren, Brittany and Ashley Beasley and Grey Olsen.
