Obituary of Frankie Dellinger Austin

Mrs. Frankie Dellinger Austin, 59, formerly of Rock Hill, S.C., tragically passed away Monday, September 23, 2013, at her home. Frankie was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina; she was the daughter of Boyce H. Dellinger of Rock Hill and the late Adlee Guinn Dellinger, and sister to the late Gail Hefner. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Austin of Olympia, Washington; her daughter, Jennifer Harlan and her husband, Alan of Eatonville, Washington; Granny’s world and the love of her life granddaughter, Raegan Harlan; her granddaughter, Ansley Fletcher; and her stepdaughters, Melissa Austin and Amanda Austin. Also surviving are her uncles, John and David Dellinger; her aunts, Darlene Bigger and Myra Little; her niece, Kelly Burns; her stepsisters, Becky Crouse, Brenda Beard, Carol Roberts, Cathy Travis, Sheila Reynolds and Debbie Arrowood; and her step-brother, Pete Dellinger. Frankie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her friends, her family, her flowers, and all God’s creatures, especially the four legged type. She took care of her cats, her dogs, and strays alike. Somehow, between all that work and daily chaos, she found time to be an amazing wife, mother, and Granny. She rarely did things for herself, wanting to make sure her family was happy and healthy. She never complained about working, but once she retired, she was happiest hanging with her granddaughter and best buddy, Raegan. She was an Army wife; she lived and worked around the world, always serving others. As a senior spouse, she mentored and cared for Army families, and encouraged “her” ladies to follow their dreams. She believed everyone deserved an opportunity and that’s what made her so very special. Throughout her life, she was kind, gentle, warm, and always ensured others were taken care of before she rested. She made friends easily and never met a stranger. She was filled with compassion and love. She loved the ocean beaches, the mountain views, sunsets, and nature, but most of all she loved life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Frankie Austin Memorial Pet Fund at any Heritage Bank Branch. Proceeds will be donated to the South Bay Veterinary Clinic to continue her legacy of caring for animals. “Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same…until we meet again” Forever in our hearts and on our minds… Love, Jennifer, Alan, Raegan, and Johnny Please leave memories of Frankie or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
