Obituary of Kathryn Marie Andringa

Kathryn passed away August 21, 2013 at Ft. Lewis, Washington, at age 88. She was born on August 17, 1925 in Scottville, Michigan to Roy and Ina Hargreaves. After graduating from high school, Kathryn married Frank Andringa in 1943 in Ventura, California. She was proud to have lived in many places, including California, Germany and Hawaii, before settling in Washington in 1958. She attended Evergreen State College, and was a secretary in the State of Washington Department of Personnel for 17 years. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, reading, attending opera, and dancing. She was a member of the Officers’ Wives Club in Germany, Hawaii and at Ft. Lewis. She is survived by her son, Skip Andringa of Rainier, Washington, and Dale Andringa of Lacey; daughters, Shirley Ryder, Nora Pearson and Mary Anwar, all of Olympia; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nephew, Rick Hargreaves of Ludington, Michigan. A viewing will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Please leave memories of Kathryn or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
