Obituary of Alex C. Stayton

Alex C. Stayton, 70, passed away June 8, 2018 in Olympia, Washington.  He was born February 3, 1948 to Byron and Agnes Stayton in Mishawaka, Indiana.  A 62-year resident of Olympia, he also lived in France for three years and Germany for one.

 

Alex attended North Thurston High School in (1962-1965) and graduated from American High in Wurzburg, Germany in 1966.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 5th Class, and married Tamara Magee in Virginia City, Nevada in 1985.  Most of his professional career was in insurance.

 

In his younger years, Alex loved playing pool with his buddies.  Throughout his life, he also enjoyed riding his Harley, going to car shows, playing his guitar, camping and fishing.

 

Alex is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tamara L. Stayton; son, Chad M. Stayton; daughter, Keri R. O'Connell; three grandchildren and one on the way; And sisters, Virginia Rust and Karen Gibeau.  He was predeceased by his parents.

 

Services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2018, 10:30 a.m., at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Children’s Hospital, Cancer Foundation, or Adopt-a-Pet of Shelton.
