Elijah Olson

Obituary of Elijah Kirk Olson

Elijah Kirk Olson was born on March 4,1992, to mother, Linda, and Greg Everitt, along with his fraternal twin brother, Zachary. He was adopted at age seven by Ken Olson after Ken and Linda got married.

Elijah was quite artistic. His childhood was filled with drawings that he loved to make. He was always witty and quick with a joke. He had an excellent memory and would often recite lines from movies and books.

As he grew older, Elijah became shyer and more reserved, as anxiety and depression were large parts of his life. He had difficulty in social situations, which caused him to avoid family gatherings. He did, however, make close friends with people that he met at Sound View Camp in Key Peninsula, Washington, and was in contact with them briefly just before he passed away on April 18, 2024. At his passing, he was surrounded by family and friends, including some of those friends from Sound View.

Elijah loved animals of all kinds, especially cats, dogs and horses. He told his mom recently, after a visit to his Aunt Susan’s property, where he spent time with her horse Cowboy, that he understood why horses are sometimes used as therapy animals. He leaves behind his cat “Lucy” and dog “Doc Howliday.”

Elijah had many interests, including reading; playing video games with his dad, Ken, and brother, Zach; rock hounding; coin collecting; treasure hunting; and exploring and visiting places he thought were quirky or unusual. When he took an interest in something, he completely invested himself. With so many interests, he would leave something for a while but would come back to it later.

He is survived by his parents; his twin brother, Zachary; his grandparents, Robert “Donnie” and Carolyn Olson; aunts, uncles, cousins and several half brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Lorna Kirk.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Tenino, 196 W. Central Ave., Tenino, WA 98589.
