Obituary of Robert Scott Young

A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Robert Scott Young, 63, an 18 year resident of Rochester, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at his home. He was born March 21, 1942 in San Jose, California to Orrin Winfred and Grace Avena (Partlow) Young. He graduated from Toledo High School in 1962 and received his Associate degree in 1982 from Centralia College. Robert married the former Louwanna M. Marsden, who survives him, on May 27, 1967 spending 38 years together. Before moving to Rochester, he lived in Vancouver from 1966 to 1978 and prior to this he lived in Toledo from 1945 to 1962. He served with the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and took part in the Vietnam War. For the past 18 years Robert was the custodian and groundskeeper for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rochester of which he was a member. He enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, and the piano. Robert is survived by his wife, Louwanna M. Young of Rochester; 2 sons, Robert S. Young, Jr. and Jeremy A. Young of Rochester; 3 daughters, Ramona L. Sutton and Daphne K. Mielitz both of Rochester and Raya S. Morgan of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Roy G. Young of Toledo and Harry Le Young of Port Angeles; 5 sisters, Jeanne Smith of Kelso, Lois Lumsden of Toledo, Ruby Brown of Salem, Oregon, Pat Cozad of Sheridan, Oregon, and Frances Roeder of Portland, Oregon; also 6 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 18501 Paulson SW, in Rochester. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
