Obituary of Estelle Tandoc

None Estelle Tandoc, 89, a resident of Olympia for the last 6 months, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia on Saturday, October 29, 2005. She was born June 9, 1916 in New York City to Joseph and Rose Honig. Estelle graduated from Eastern District High School in New York City in 1935. In 1940 she married Paul Tandoc in New York City. He passed away in 1978. Estelle had lived in San Francisco and Santa Monica, Calif then Grants Pass Oregon for 33 years before moving to Olympia to be closer to her family. She had been an Amateur Musician, Restaurateur and Home Health Care Elder. Estelle enjoyed playing the steel guitar, hula dancing, tap dancing and cooking. She also loved animals and said “some animals are nicer than humans.” Estelle lives on in the hearts and memories of her brother, Harry Honig of Lynchburg, VA; nephew, John (Courtney) Honig and their children; Ryan, Dylan, Jessica and Kristina all of Centreville, VA; three nieces, Nancy Honig and Bill Thompson of Tacoma, WA, Sarah Honig of Tacoma, WA and Kathy and Robin Steinbrecher and their children, Lyn and Andrew all of Olympia.
