Obituary of Cecil L. Smathers

Cecil L. Smathers, 78, a 46 year resident of the Randle, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Morton General Hospital. Cecil was born November 26, 1926 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Vannis and Minnie (Orr) Smathers. He served in the US Army during WWII. For most of his life, he worked as a logger with several companies in the Randle area. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the bounty of his gardening efforts with his neighbors. Cecil is survived by his companion of 24 years, Betty Beydler. At his request, no service is planned. Private inurnment will be in the Rainy Valley Cemetery in Glenoma.
