Obituary of Enar E. Shoblom

Enar was born October 2, 1917 in Olympia. He died December 21, 2004 in Olympia at the age of 87. A lifelong resident of Olympia, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, science, and electronics. Enar was an insatiable reader of nonfiction topics including physics and history. Enar ownd Butler Cove Refuse Service for over thirty years. His route included west Olympia and the northwestern parts of Thurston County. He knew many of his customers as friends. His talents as a mechanic, welder, and machinist served him well in keeping his garbage trucks on the road. Prior to owning his buisness, Enar trapped fur in the Olympia area and also spent some time in Anchorage, Alaska on a construction crew. He married Garnet Parks of Olympia. They had three children; David, of Gig Harbor, Roxanne and Tom, both of Olympia. Garnet had a son, Joseph Juinta, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, by a prior marriage who Enar took in as his own. When the children were young the family enjoyed many camping trips and weekends downhill skiing at White Pass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet and his younger brother, Arvid. He is survived by his brothers, Paul, of Olympia and Lloyd, of California, and his children. Enar was well known and loved by many in the community. He will be missed.
