Frank Mackin

Obituary of Frank Mackin

Frank “Patrick/Paddy” Mackin, Jr. of Olympia, Washington, saddled up and rode into the sunset on May 28, 2017. He leaves behind his loving bride and “trail boss” of 40 years, Nancy; daughter, Elaine; siblings, Jim, Marty, Kathy, Michael, and Mary; in-laws (and outlaws), including Ruth, wife of departed brother, Tom; as well as many pardners near and far. Paddy was a lover of nature, capturing it with camera and serenading it with Native American flute. He sought adventures on land and sea–camping, sailing, and hiking. He knew his way around a grill and smoker, creating many “sapid” meals. Also, he won many trophies thanks to his “unique” lawn bowling style. His early years were spent practicing law in his native Texas. He and Nancy hightailed it to the Pacific Northwest over 20 years ago, where he continued as a consultant. Toward retirement, he turned his focus full-time to photography and digital painting. Please leave memories of Frank or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
