Obituary of Cora Lillian O'Day

none Cora Lillian O’Day (Coral) passed away on January 30, 2006 at the Georgian House in Lakewood after a lengthy illness. She was 82. Coral was born May 29, 1923 in Portland, Oregon to Cora Ingle and Henry R. Foust. Coral spent most of her adult life in Olympia. As a young adult Coral sang with many bands and was a favorite to many audiences in the area. In the 1940’s Coral became a Vaudeville actress and starred in “The Drunkard”, performing in many large cities throughout the country. Coral was also a talented artist, her drawings and paintings are cherished by her family and friends. Coral had a deep love for animals and had many pets. She always made room for strays. Coral was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Weber; her son, Sandy Roy Daly; and two aunts. Coral is survived by a son, Jan Anderson; a stepson, Robin Daly; a granddaughter, Cora M. “Nikki” Daly; one great grandson; a cousin, Jean Reed, of Wyoming; longtime friends, Raul and Lonnie Alvarez; and numerous friends and caregivers. A graveside service will take place on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater, WA. Memorial donations may be made to the Thurston County Humane Society, 3120 Martin Way E., Olympia, Washington 98506.
