Obituary of William Lester

WILLIAM “BILL” R LESTER SR 10/27/34 – 10/8/09 After a short battle with cancer, Bill passed away peacefully. Bill was born and raised in Steilacoom, WA, the youngest of 7 brothers and 3 sisters. He was an Adult Parole Officer for 30 years with the State of WA Dept of Corrections, until his retirement in 1993. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed golfing, the NASCAR races, all sports, being with his wife and dog, and working in his beautiful yard. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Tom Lester, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his adoring wife and best friend of 24 years, Dorie, his dog Casey, brother Dave, sister-in-laws Lillian (Lane) Lester , Edna Lester, Carol Parrish, and Linda (Tim) Wegner, mother-in-law Elfrieda Schaafs, his 4 daughters, Patty, Pam, Peggy and Laurie, and son Bill Jr, stepson, Rikk Stowe, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to wonderful friends, Darlene Brown, Don Fox, Joe Irwin and Bill Pulley for all your help and support during Bill’s life and in his passing. Deepest gratitude to the Group Health Hospice team, LJ and Linda M, for your kindness and compassion during Bill’s last days. Per Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated and requested no services be held. “Rosie/Tami – it’s happy hour, and last call, bring the table a round one last time on me.
