Obituary of Cathy Dulaney Houston

Cathy Dulaney Houston, 46, a 13 year resident of Lacey, died On Friday, February 25, 2005 at her home of metastasic breast cancer. She was born January 1, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, to John Franklin and Dorothy (Brooks) Dulaney. She was a graduate of North High School in Omaha, Nebraska and had received several college credits. On April 8, 1977 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Cathy married Tony Leeroy Houston, who survives. Cathy was employed as a Supply Clerk for the Air Force in Berlin, Germany from 1978-1981 and for the Army DPCA in Fort Hood, Texas from 1981-1989. In Germany, from July 1989 - August 1992 she worked in the Giessen CPO office, 1992-1994 at Fort Lewis, Washington Army CPO, from 1994-1996 as an Army Contracting Clerk, from 1996-2002 as Cash Collector, DPCA. Her places of residence include Fort Ord, California from July 1977 – January 1978; Berlin, Germany from January 1978 - 1981; Fort Hood, Texas from August 1981 – 1989; Giessen, Germany from July 1989 – July 1992; Fort Lewis, Washington from August 1992 to present day. Of all the things Cathy loved, she particularly enjoyed designing, yoga, aerobic exercise, music, traveling, landscaping, and decorating. She was a family planner, homemaker and enjoyed her family and home. She was the greatest family supporter. Including her husband, Tony, Cathy is survived by two daughters, Swanna Nidirah Houston, of Lacey and Sonja Maria (Houston) White and son-in-law, Chad of Guam; three grandsons, Devon Houston, Anthony Houston, and Jevon White.
