Lonnie Hogue

Obituary of Lonnie P. Hogue

Lonnie P. Hogue, 52, was born to Lonnie C. and Patrina A. Hogue on November 20, 1952. He completed his life journey on January 1, 2005. He is survived by his loving parents, Lonnie and Patrina Hogue, of Olympia, his sister, Trina Hoyt, of Tumwater, a niece, Christa Erickson (Ray), of Olympia; nephews, Heath Hoyt and Jared Hoyt (Petee), both of Olympia, one grand niece, Emily, and six grand nephews, Matthew, Ben, Jacob, Colton, Lance and Payton, who loved their Uncle Lonnie (More); also aunts, uncles, and cousins. His sister, Terri, preceded him in death. Lonnie graduated from Timberline High School in 1971. That year he bought his first commercial fishing boat. For the next 31 years he fished the Pacific Ocean from Port Angeles, Neah Bay, to Oregon and Alaska. He has many lifetime friends from those years along with colorful stories as only a fisherman can tell them. If he knew that you needed something he was there to help. He loved snow skiing at Whistler, B.C., especially with his close friends, Chuck and Laura and “Note”. He shared his passion for golf with his father, nephews, Heath and Jared, and his grand nephew, Matt and many of his friends. His smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses in Olympia and Aberdeen who provided Lonnie with the best medical care while treating his lung cancer. The dignity and respect they showed Lon during the past 2 years was always appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please make donations of your choice.
