Obituary of Shade Dotson Coleman

Shade Dotson Coleman, Jr. Died at his home in Bucoda on Wednesday, December 14, 2005. He was born December 27, 1928 in Chehalis to Shade and Lilly (Vernon) Coleman. On April 18, 1994 he married Elisa Bangquiao in the Philippines, she survives him at the family home. He was preceded in death by wives, Ruth, Elvira and Letecia. Mr. Coleman served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1974. He had been an Aircraft loadmaster technician, foreman, cargo agent, air operations supervisor and an aircraft log clerk. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Shade had also been a truck driver and logger following his military career. Shade had lived in Tenino, San Antonio, Texas, Germany and the Philippines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards with his siblings and traveling. He enjoyed trips to the Philippines for yearly vacations before he became sick. In addition to his wife, Elisa, he is survived by nine sons; Shade (Maria) Coleman, III of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth (Claire) Coleman, Dennis and Dirk Coleman all of Maine, Gerry (Sherry) Coleman of Virginia, Roger Coleman of Tenino, William Coleman of Olympia, Addis (Nesse) Coleman and Arman (Melanie) Ondong of Chehalis; two daughters, Charito Coleman-Tinapay of the Philippines and Lorna (Tim) Collins of Tacoma; one brother, Morris (Verna) Coleman of Chehalis; three sisters, Norma Roberts of Tumwater, Barbara (Wayne) Willet of Michigan and Betty (Fred) Lischka of Quincy; sister-in-law, JoAnne Coleman; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Addis Coleman and a brother, Jack Coleman. A memorial mass will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at St. Peters Catholic Parish, 149 Keithahn St. S., Tenino, WA.
