Obituary of Evelyn Lucille Chatham

. Evelyn Chatham passed away on May 23, 2006 at the age of 86. She was born in Penzance, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1919 to Pauline and Herbert Olson.When she was 16, she moved with her family to Pasco, Washington and later to Seattle. She met her husband Delbert Chatham on an outing to Mt. Rainier. They married in 1944 and enjoyed 57 years together. They made their homes in Seattle and Vancouver, Washington before retiring to Silver Creek in 1982. After her husband’s death in 2001, she moved to Olympia. Evelyn worked as a secretary in the school systems and enjoyed crafts, reading, square dancing, round dancing, and gardening. She was best known by her loving family and extended family for her marvelous cooking skills. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Helen Price in Canada; her son, Duane Chatham from Toledo, Washington; her daughters, Dianne Draze of San Luis Obespo, California and Kathleen Collins of Olympia, Washington; three granddaughters, Lisa Wood, Kathryn Collins, and Rebekah Chatham; and two great grandchildren, Justin and Emily Wood. She also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Herbert and Melvin, and her sister Olive.
