Obituary of James Wallace Castle

James Wallace Castle, passed away on June 7th in Seattle following complications after surgery. He was born July 14, 1922 in Webster, South Dakota to William R. and Lina Castle.Jim was very proud of being a World War II Veteran. He served with the Army Signal Corps in the European Theater Operation. Following his discharge, he and his wife moved from Iowa and settled in Seattle. After several moves, including California, they lived in Eugene, Oregon for 30 years until 3 years ago when they moved to Olympia, Wa. An active Mason, Jim served in several offices, including Grand Musician of Oregon for ten years. He also held offices in the Scottish Rite and the Red Cross of Constantine. Jim was a talented pianist and organist who enjoyed sharing his love of music with family and friends. Playing either the piano or organ for entertainment, or for his own relaxation, was a life-long joy for him. Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Phyllis; his children, Patricia Ann and her husband Tom; James Jay; Michael and his wife Marlene and Zachary and his wife Paige. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
