Obituary of Rose Nordena Allen

ROSE NORDENA (CARLSON) ALLEN 3/26/1941 - 5/28/2005 Rose Nordena Allen, 64, of Yelm, died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Rainier Vista Care Center in Puyallup. Rose was born in Arlington, California. She was the 2nd child born to Alguretta Marjorie Allen, and the firstborn of her father Eric Emmanuel Carlson. Rose is a descendant of the "Tupper" family of Sandwich, MA. Rose married Robert Leroy Allen in Orange County, California in 1958. Their marriage was blessed with 7 children. They lived in various cities throughout CA (Solono County, Orange Co, LA Co) before they moved to Washington in 1967, where they lived in various places throughout King County. Sadly, their marriage failed after 25 years, however they remained close friends after the dust settled. Rose was very young at heart. She loved life, and those around her. She was a loving, caring, humorous and compassionate person, and she loved to help people. She enjoyed video/computer games, arts & crafts; horse rides, long drives, and visits with friends and family. She was also quite the card player. She was very creative in everything she did, and recently she had completed writing a children’s book. She also Loved the Lord, and many times took the opportunity to talk to others about him. Prior to her early retirement, Rose worked as a Drug and Alcohol Intake Counselor for adolescents at Lakeside Milam in Burien. She has spent the past 5+ years suffering with COPD (Emphysema & Asthma). Rose is preceded in death by her husband Robert, and their daughter Kathleen Jane. Her brother Jay also precedes her in death. Rose is survived by her 6-children; Cindy (Fred) Butler of Renton, WA; Eric Allen of Florence, AZ; Debi Allen of Auburn WA; Lynda (Patrick) Dorris of Rainier WA; Dan Allen of Portland WA; and Sean & Phi Allen of Port Orchard WA. Her 9-grandchildren; Joe, Chris, Jennel, Rebekah, Lonny, Justin, Amelia Rose, Terry and Damon. Lastly, her great-grandson Ethan. She is also survived by her sister Sharon of Orting WA. Rose will be laid to rest with her former husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, WA. Her funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2005 at By His Word Christian Center () - 10110 Aqueduct Dr. E. Tacoma, WA 98445 with her former Pastor Jann T. Butler officiating.
