Obituary of Coleen Joyce Yeary

Coleen passed away October 5, 2013 at home in Tenino, Washington. She was born May 23, 1940 to Ray and Ethel Moon in Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1958, University of Idaho in 1962, and later earned a masters degree at Lesley College. She married Glenn A. Yeary on August 21, 1962 at the First Church of Brethren in Twin Falls. In addition to Tenino, she lived in Kelso and Buckley, Washington. Coleen taught home economics and science at Jefferson Junior High School and Capitol High School, where she also was the girls’ golf coach. She loved playing golf and was the Idaho State Golf Champion in 1960. Coleen was an avid quilter, and enjoyed playing piano and singing in church choirs. Over the years, she was a member of the First Church of Brethren, Tenino Presbyterian Church, and Westminister Presbyterian Church. Coleen also was a member of the Olympia Choral Society, Masterworks-Barber Shop Quartet, and Tri Delta Sorority. Coleen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Glenn; son, Dustin A. Yeary of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Gwen M. Yeary of Lacey, Washington; one grandchild; and brother, Ray E. Moon Jr. of Pomona, California. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Darla Ann.
