It’s been a very long time since I had seen Archie and Vi. Bob and I were good friends and I still miss him. My deepest sympathy to the family. Archie always put a smile on my face. Vi, I always enjoyed my time with the both of you and I’ve thought of you both through the years. God Bless.

His laugh, his favorite words he used when telling a story and the way he said them, his ingenuity, spunk & grit…what a great & hard working man (I think the whole idea of the Energizer Bunny originated with Arch). He set the bar pretty high, didn’t he? What a guy – love you Arch, Love you Townsends – hugs

I loved getting firewood from Archie always scheduling his deer hunting camping trips around my delivery. I loved Archie, so humble. He was a Boston Harbor South Bay icon, who will live on forever. He was and will continue to be a true inspiration.

I remember Dick growing up as a kid when my parents (Ed and Dorothy) would take all of us to Dick and Vi’s house for a visit and also when Dick and my dad always wagered bets on fights that were on the TV. I have many memories of Dick and Vi as a kid and always remembered they both were classy people and hard working folks with great kids. I will miss him and will never forget the memories of those early days when everyone was so innocent.

So sorry to hear of Archie’s passing. There was a time when I felt a part of your family and Archie was someone I always looked up to for the values he stood for and the morals he subscribed to. He will be sorely missed by those that loved him. My heart goes out to his family, Vi, Rick, Georgi, Bob (may he rest in peace), Ronnie, and Linda he was a good man and we will all miss him.

Prayers from the heart to each of you in the passing of a Special man. Too many memories to recount but, memories that bring warmth and a smile…Growing up in Boston Harbor was a “gift” none of kids knew would etch our hearts for eternity. Blessed we were with super Special parents whom cared not if one of us was theirs or someone elses…Always there to protect, help, and lend a hand whatever the situation should be. Yet another hole added to the fabric of “home”. Love you guys…Tery

The Townsend’s have been great neighbors for the 15 years we’ve lived next to them. Archie has been there many times for us either by a helping hand, good advice or a bunch of firewood or kindling. He’s generously shared the fruits of his garden with us and some of the bounty of the sea. He will be missed and he was loved.

Sorry to hear about Archie. I bought a lot of cedar from him in the 70’s and 80’s when I had a shake mill. I never had to scale his wood. Whatever he said was there was there. There were very few like him!!

Men like you are rare and leave a big void when passing on. We remember the days when Bobby would share stories, you were quite the busy man and woodsman, a passion you passed on to others. You were also generous in your hospitality. No doubt you left family and friends with many good memories. We are happy to have met you.
