Obituary of George Harold Snider

George, age 80, passed away at his Shelton home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born September 17, 1933 in Nyack, New York, to George Wesley and Rose Abbotts Snider. He served in the U.S. Army for six years and the U.S. Air Force for four years. He had lived in Minnesota, Montana before moving to Washington where he lived in Seattle, Bremerton, Brinnon and Shelton. On May 4, 1985, he married Norma C. (Megiveron) Schraeder at Brinnon, Washington. They resided in Shelton. George worked at different careers, from an executive chef to a driver for auto wrecking. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Norma; son, Christopher (Terri) Snider; extended family, John (Cheryl) Zollars, William (Mary) Zollars, Leonard (Judy) Schraeder, Sally Pettis and Sara (Mark) Springer; sister, Charlotte King; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Rose Snider; and his brother, Robert. Family suggests memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
