Obituary of Christine Elizabeth Sanders

Born to Robert and Helen Morris on November 1, 1983, at only 4 lbs. 15 oz., Christine Elizabeth Morris zealously forged ahead of her identical twin sister, Catherine, even though she was positioned as the second birth, and retained her can-do spirit and fervor for life to the finish line! They were eagerly anticipated by three older siblings, Brian, Debbie, and Jimmy (ages at the time were 18, 15, and 6 years). At a fledgling age of only three years old, Christine and Catherine became Aunties to Brandon Ingalls (Kevin and Debbie) and shortly thereafter Chris and her sister were diagnosed profoundly deaf. The world opened up as we pursued communication through sign language and they grew and built lifelong friendships with many, varied, and wonderful people! (Love goes out to the staff and alumni of Bow Lake Elementary and Northwest School for the Hearing-Impaired, friends within the deaf community and without, as well as our family in the Lord, both distant and near!). Christine was a lively, playful gal with an exceedingly generous heart! She invested in people, and, as one friend said, “I always admired Chrissy’s fiery spirit. I appreciated the time she took to get to know me and to teach me how to communicate with her and Cathy. She was always up for an adventure, and I loved seeing that spark in her eye when she had an idea, a thought, an inspiration.” Christine enjoyed art, horseback riding, soccer and swimming. She beautifully mastered many swim strokes, including the butterfly. Chris took very naturally to mothering and was very attentive to all the children who were added to the family over the years. Numerous nieces and nephews include Brandon, Kailynn, Daniel, Matthew (Ingalls), Jennifer, Stephen, Austin, Cody (B. Morris), Bailey (J. Morris), and two grand nieces, Madison and Olivia (Brandon and Rachel). A champion of the concept that is family, Christine always strove to tie the bonds of family securely. She ensured that our heritage is not forgotten and deserves the highest respect. Christine invested a great deal of time and effort in discovering long lost relatives and family history, which we hold dear. So many lost relatives grew to appreciate Christine and we wish they could be here with us to honor her! Christine met Aaron Sanders and the two friends’ relationship blossomed into romance and they were married in February, 2007. They have a beautiful little girl, Delyn Cami, so named in honor of her aunts DEbbie LYNn and CAtherine MIchelle. Many people would recognize and love Chris from the Airport Golf Center as she and Delyn were often found helping Aaron with the course care where he works. With the addition of husband, Aaron Sanders, came an extended family for Chris to love and care for deeply. She will be missed by his father and step-mother, Scott and Liz Sanders; mother and step-father, Lorna and Tom Cerjance; sister and brother-in-law, Autumn and Aric Coolbaugh; as well as nieces and nephew, Lyra, Kaydyn and Corey, and many other family and friends. For their 30th birthday celebration (one year ago), beloved brother-in-law, Jeff Benitez, took Chris and his wife Cathy on a cruise to the Caribbean and the girls had the vacation of a lifetime together, where they enjoyed an extended trip full of adventures and activities to their delight, and most importantly built memories that will last forever. Proud to be employed, Chris was a reliable, dedicated and hardworking employee at Target for three years, but more importantly, she had a deep love for The Lord and always, ALWAYS did her best to do what was right. She sought to bring a smile to the faces of others and was willing and helpful at a moment’s notice. An exceedingly good mother, Christine was fiercely devoted to providing the best possible life and future for her daughter! Christine Elizabeth, our darling daughter, beloved sister, loyal wife, loving mother, cherished friend… you will forever and always be treasured. We will strive to honor you by caring for one another and continuing your good works. We eagerly anticipate singing with you in heaven one day!
