Obituary of Ronald H. Mueller

Ronald H. Mueller, 79, passed away March 15, 2014 in Olympia, Washington. He was born July 10, 1934 to Bertha and Herman J. Mueller in Taylor Ridge, Illinois. He graduated from Yelm High School in 1954 and attended Pacific Lutheran University, Centralia College, and City College of Bellevue. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan and Korea for two years and fondly recalled the kind people he met while traveling in Asia. Ron married Ann Zaring on July 4, 1961. He worked for JC Penney, was a Carnation home delivery milkman, and began his career with Prudential Insurance in April 1971. Ron was passionate about his family, barbequing, lighthouses, camping by the ocean, stamp collecting and especially gardening. Ron’s special passion every spring was to plant 400 tomato seeds, label and pot each seedling (with a little help from Ann) and share the plants with family and friends. He was also a member of the Tumwater Chamber and Life Underwriters. Ron loved to live life to the fullest; his enthusiasm was contagious and wherever he went he always knew someone. You could always hear or see Ron coming – often with the top down driving around Olympia enjoying every sunny day. Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Mueller; son, Marc (Barb) Mueller; daughters, Janna (Howard) Cox, and Tania (Steve Reddaway) Mueller; grandson, Nickolaus Cox; sister Nancy (David) McMonigle; several nieces and a nephew. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Fund Northwest Affiliate, 208 Broadway, Suite 330, Tacoma, WA 98404.
