Obituary of Dolores McLennen

Dolores McLennen, a longtime resident of the Olympia area, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her home in Tumwater. She was born in Elma, Washington, the daughter of Italian immigrants who came to the United States from Italy in l920. She was raised in McCleary, Washington and attended the McCleary Grade School and Elma High School. She was married to Charles V. McLennen in 1956 at which time she moved to Olympia. She was divorced in 1969. At the time of her death, she resided in the Thunderbird Village Mobile Home Park in Tumwater, where she made many good friends. Her working career included positions with the State of Washington, Department of Institutions, Washington State Senate, Legislative Council, and the Office of Program Research, House of Representatives, from which she retired in 1990. She enjoyed working and playing on her computer and searching the internet; puttering in her yard; gardening; baking and cooking, especially Italian cooking; knitting and crocheting; watching Mariners and Seahawks games; feeding, watching and photographing wild birds; her social afternoon and evening activities with her friends; and particularly the love of her family. She is survived by a son, Tracy, and one brother, Archie Tincani, both of Olympia, as well as numerous cousins both here and abroad.
