Obituary of Elsie Rhule Larson

Elsie, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at the age of 84 on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Olympia, Washington. She was born to Thorvald and Helen Heden on May 7, 1929 in Chehalis, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Nelsen; daughter, Rene; husband, Chuck Rhule; husband, Chuck Larson; and mother-in-law, Ethel Rhule. Elsie is survived by her son, David Rhule; daughter, Kay McLaughlin (Gerry); grandson, Kevin McLaughlin (Amanda) and granddaughter, Shelley Zornado (Brandon); step-daughters, Sue Rux (Paul) and Vikki Larson; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Christian McLaughlin and Corbin Zornado; and several nieces and nephews. Elsie enjoyed game shows, traveling, volunteering, spending time with family and friends and going out to lunch over the years. Elsie married Chuck Rhule in 1949. They purchased the Olympia Flower Shop in 1968 and she continued to operate the business after his death in 1972. Elsie and Chuck Larson were married in 1977 and spent several good years traveling and wintering in Thousand Palms, California until his death in 2004. Her mild manner and sense of humor will be missed.
