Obituary of Orval Kisor

Keith Kisor, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, 86, of Olympia Washington passed away January 22, 2014. Keith was born in Olympia on April 20, 1927. He graduated from Olympia High School and from St. Martin’s college with a bachelor’s degree in business, psychology and speech. Keith married Betty Jane Madsen in 1950. They had two children: son, Brad Kisor (wife, Deana) and daughter, Sandy Prock (husband, Bob). They had three grandchildren, Jordan Kisor, Talea Kisor and Courtney Dutra (husband, Bill), and two great grandchildren, Colton Kingston and Elyse Dutra. Keith was a successful businessman. He was President of Kisor Tire Company, management consultant for Ordel Oil Company, and Vice President of The Coachman for Mazda. Keith served the city of Olympia as Commissioner of Public Works. He was a professional lobbyist for United Warehouses, Interclub Boating Association of Washington, and the Washington State Tire Dealers Association. Keith retired from his leadership position as the Director of the Washington State Gambling Commission in 1986. Keith enjoyed tackling tough problems and finding innovative, win/win solutions. Keith also played a significant role in making his dream come true, turning the mud flats and old warehouses into a destination vacation place for visitors to view the southernmost tip of Puget Sound – what we now know as “Percival Landing.” Keith was also an accomplished artist/painter and tennis player. He loved conversations and sharing information with his family and friends, reading, being with his wife, working on projects by himself, or with others, playing with his beloved dog, and he always enjoyed a great laugh. Keith was a multitalented man and a joy to be with. He will be remembered and always in the hearts of the many who loved him, especially his family. Please leave memories of Keith or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
