Obituary of Patricia A. Davis

Our beloved Mom, Patricia A. Davis, 92, died in Lacey, Washington, on March 1, 2017. She spent her childhood in Osceola, Wisconsin, where she was born to Hazel and John Krusche. In her teens, Pat moved with her family to Seattle, Washington, where she graduated from Ballard High School and then the University of Washington. While studying dietetics at the UW, she met Melvin Roger Davis and they married in March of 1947. They lived in many parts of the country, including Puerto Rico, where Rog was a physician with the U.S. Public Health Service. Pat also had fond memories of their time on the Navajo Nation in Fort Defiance, Arizona. In 1968, they settled in Olympia where Rog established a private practice. After 61 years of marriage, her loving husband passed away in 2008. Traveling, skiing, gardening, reading, basket making and knitting were some of Pat’s favorite pastimes. She was always up for new experiences. She belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Olympia and Chapter FO of PEO. She cherished many friendships in those organizations, as well as in countless bridge groups. When she moved to Panorama in 2010, she was delighted to find friends who loved bridge as much as she did. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mom, nana and great-nana. Her kitchen was the hub of activity and we fondly remember lots of banter and conversation while she cooked wonderful meals and frequent NTTs (“New Taste Treats”). She was patient, kind, generous, tireless and fun. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Mark Davis (Sue), Lisa Griggs (Jim), and Diane Zevenbergen (Mike); nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Please leave memories of Pat or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
