Obituary of Charles Lester Gregor Birth: Death: Service Information: Please leave memories of Charles or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.

Charles was born on February 22, 1931 to Charles and Jeanette (McFarland) Gregor in Somerville, Massachusetts. He passed away on February 13, 2014, at the age of 82, with his family by his side in Olympia, Washington. Charles retired from the US Navy where he served in the submarine service as a mechanic. He later worked at Waialua Sugar Company, continuing his career as a mechanic. Charles married Patricia Dorr on October 8, 1960 in Paso Robles, California. Together they raised a family and built an extensive circle of friends in Wahiawa, Hawaii from 1960 to 2003. In 2003, they retired and relocated to Olympia, Washington, to be closer to immediate family. Chuck enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends, woodworking, and riding his motorcycle. Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Paul Gregor; daughter, Jodi (Larry) Schaefer; grandchildren, Dale and Cassie; as well as numerous family members and close friends. His gift was the ability to be something to everyone that he encountered, be it father, friend, husband, or teacher. He did not belong to any one of us; he belonged to ALL of us. We are grateful for his life, his laughter, and the compassion he shared with us all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the University of San Francisco Medical Center.
