Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Fischer

Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Fischer, 59, finally bowed at the end her long graceful fierce dance with cancer on December 6, 2013. Preceded in death by her parents, Ruth (Hils) Fischer and Earl Fischer, Beth is survived by her husband, Robert Lovitt, and her sweet siblings, nieces, nephews and their families. The communities of Olympia, where she lived for 23 years, and of Cincinnati, where she spent her childhood, will be deeply saddened, but also will be determinedly celebrating the love they shared. Beth’s religion was kindness, her vocation was compassion, and her interest was a continual celebration of beauty. May Beth’s bodhisattva life of caring for others inspire us, reminding us of the power of a tender, genuine heart. No flowers; if desired, donations may be made to Mercy Corps.
