Obituary of Edward DeHart

Edward DeHart of Olympia and McCleary died Tuesday, October 7, 2014. He was born May 6, 1925, in Olympia, Washington, the oldest of three sons of Ebb and Ellen DeHart. He grew up in Olympia and attended Olympia High School until he was drafted into the Army at age 17 for service in WWII. He saw action in Europe, where he was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart. He worked as a logger all of his adult life with his brothers, Ivan and George, doing business as DeHart Brothers Logging. He was married to Delila Hamer from 1990 until her death in 2007. He was married to Nancy Murphy from 2008 until her death in 2013. He is survived by his brother, George (Gaylia); two nieces; a nephew; and stepson, Dan Hamer.
