Obituary of Sara Rojas de Marquez

Sara was born in Ameca, Jalisco in 1910 to Braulio Rojas and Maria Perez Arce. The family moved to Mexico City in 1920. Sara married Gonzalo Marquez in 1932, and they had three daughters. Sara is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Kilcup of Olympia, and Gisela Marquez of Lacey; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was a businesswoman in Mexico City, always willing to help those less fortunate. Her last enterprise was an athletic club, which she sold when she moved to Olympia to be near her daughters. She loved dancing, skating, swimming, badminton, and exercising. Her greatest loves were her grandchildren. Since 1997, Sara was lovingly cared for at “Peace Adult Family Home,” run by Celia Espinoza and her daughter, Maricelia Espinoza. A loving Mother and a dotting Grandmother, Sara will be remembered with love by those who knew her. Please leave memories of Sara or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
