Obituary of Tanya Louise Carter

Tanya Louise Carter Tanya Louise Carter, 65, of Olympia, Washington died December 27, 2013 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington on March 16, 1948 to Herbert Hnilica and the late Venceslava (Vendi) Plavec Hnilica. Tanya graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1966. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Olympia and began her career with the State of Washington. On October 18, 1968, she married her devoted husband, Charles LaVerne Carter. After ten years of marriage, they welcomed a son, Ian Charles. Although employed fulltime until retirement, Tanya found time to be a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking; however, handicrafts were her passion. Tanya excelled at knitting, crocheting and spinning her own wool. Family and friends were delighted to receive a gift she had made with the label, “Totally Tanya.” Tanya loved to camp in the woods, as well as travel at home and abroad. Most recently, she and her husband, Verne enjoyed a trip to the Czech Republic. Tanya is survived by her husband, Verne; son, Ian; father, Herbert Hnilica; brother, John Hnilica (Debbie); niece, Natalie (Justin) Mills; and nephew, Derek (Nicole) Hnilica. She was predeceased by her mother, and step-mother, Mary, as well as her favorite aunt, Agnes Louise Sharp. Please leave memories of Tanya or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
