Obituary of Marjorie M. Campbell

Marjorie M. Campbell Marjorie Campbell passed away in Olympia, Washington on May 14, 2013, at age 97. She was born on January 22, 1916, to Fred and Iva Maschek in Spokane, Washington. Marjorie attended the School of Journalism at the University of Washington and, in 1934, moved to Seattle, Washington. On September 18, 1943, she married Alex Campbell, a marine electrician. Her diverse skills served her well, working with the Selective Service during World War II and the Bon Marche. She made time for her daughter as a Brownie Troop Leader and a grade school volunteer. Marjorie enjoyed her family, friends, crafts and traveling. She fondly recalled her trips to Scotland, England, France, Morocco, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Mead, son-in-law Norm, and grandson Kenny Mead, as well as many loving relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend grateful thanks to the Tumwater Hampton Special Care Center and their wonderful staff for the outstanding kindness and care they provided to Marjorie. Also, many thanks to Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice for their staff’s and volunteers’ compassion and thoughtful support for Marjorie toward the end of her life. No funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be scheduled later. Any memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. She will be intered at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, Washington.
