Obituary of Bruce Anthony Burris

Bruce Anthony Burris was born February 25, 1947, in Seattle, Washington.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Olympia, Washington, on August 11, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer. His wife, Mary Lynne Carson, was by his side.

Bruce went to Holy Rosary grade school in Tacoma and Lincoln High school. He followed his dream to become a carpenter and started a successful business known as Burris Construction Company. He later moved into the rental business known as Burris Rentals, acquiring rental properties throughout Pierce and Thurston County.  

Bruce loved the warm weather and decided to buy a home in Goodyear, Arizona, where he wintered.

He had the ability to fix anything and build anything.  He loved his work and continued until a week before he passed. He enjoyed playing poker and Cribbage.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynne Carson; brother, Charlie Burris; and sisters, Mary Burris Lamarsh and Joan Burris Fitzpatrick. He is preceded in death by his brother, Byron Burris; his father, Roland Burris; and mother, Ann Burris.
