Dana Wilson

Obituary of Dana Lee Wilson

Surrounded by family and friends, Dana Lee Wilson passed away on July 31, 2023, at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington, after a short battle with lung cancer.  He was born November 25, 1954, to Edward F. and Helen Lee Wilson in San Deigo, California. The last 26 years, he resided in Port Orchard, Washington, with his life partner, Paula Simon, and their many adopted animals.

Professionally, Dana was a cook at various restaurants and maritime facilities.  He had a lifelong love for animals and a passion for old war movies.  He treated life as an adventure.  He had a pilot’s license, a motorcycle license, and a welding certificate.  He biked through New Zealand and Australia and scuba dived at various shipwrecks.  Dana constantly read, hoping to glean a better understanding of our universe.

He is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Paula Simon; stepmother, Beatrice Wilson; brothers, Edward Wilson (Betty), David Wilson (Charyl), Keith Wilson, Sandy Wilson, and Scott Wilson; and close cousins, John Wilson (Lynn), Mike Wilson (Terri), Joe Wilson (Deb), and Mark Wilson (Tina).  His parents predeceased him.

The family of Dana Wilson deeply appreciates and thanks the medical staff at St. Anthony Hospital for their compassion and care provided to Dana during his time there.

A celebration of Dana’s life will be planned for a future date.
