Obituary of Sunetra Rasmussen

Sunetra Rasmussen, 86, passed away July 28, 2023 at her home in Lacey. She was born May 22, 1937 in Thailand to Sawad and Chavee Vannavech.

She has been a resident of Lacey for 6 years, and previously lived in the state of Michigan. She began an apprenticeship as an electrician for GM Manufacturing in 1981. Sunetra made significant strides as a trailblazing figure as she became the first female electrician in the companies history. She was married in 1986 in Clio, Michigan. Sunetra like to travel where she met people and embarked on numerous journeys across the globe. Her adventures brought her many cherished friendships in both Thailand and America. Other hobbies she enjoyed were dancing and photography.

Sunetra is survived by 2 sons, Poomee (Benjaport) Sansiribhan and Vachira (Amornsri) Sansiribhan, 2 daughters Vientiane (Derek) Gohn and Rujirek (Earl) Zamora, 3 brothers and 3 sisters who live in Thailand. 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband and 2 sisters.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 at 1pm at Funeral Alternatives of Washington in Lacey.
