Obituary of Maureen A. Martin
Maureen A. Martin passed away July 4, 2023, in Olympia, Washington. She was born March 2, 1941, to Maurice “Pudge” and Dorothy Keller in Longview, Washington; raised in McKenna, Washington; and was a resident of Yelm, Washington, for over 50 years.
Maureen married Fred A. Martin on April 28, 1961, at the Yelm Methodist Church. She loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She especially treasured her time spent with family. She also loved her home and entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed being with people, making new friends of strangers, and sharing Jesus’ love with everyone she met.
Maureen loved to be busy with her hands, including knitting, crocheting, quilting, and doing ceramics. She loved reading her Bible and singing and playing piano at church. She also enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, Arizona. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Fred Martin; daughters, Susan (Kenny) Bergman, Lynn (Don) Foster, and Pamela (Tony) Hildebrand; seven grandchildren, DorothyAnne Bergman, Rebekah Norwood, A.J. Foster, Jessica Thompson, Benjamin Foster, Brennan Hildebrand, and Jordan Hildebrand; nine great-grandchildren, Kenneth “Colt” Bergman, Fred Bergman, Caleb Bergman, Madison Norwood, Carter Norwood, Allivia Norwood, Alexander Foster, Zachary Foster, Aurora Thompson, plus one on the way; brother, Mike Keller; and sister, Colleen Berry. She was predeceased by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, Maureen’s family suggests memorial donations be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Olympia.
