Laura Logan

Obituary of Laura Marie Logan

Laura Marie (Lynn) Logan, 63, of Olympia, Washington, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2023.

Laura was born on October 12, 1959, in West Palm Beach, Florida, and later moved with her family to Washington State where she attended and graduated from North Thurston High School in 1978. She married her best friend, Michael L. Logan, on August 31, 1985, and they settled down outside of Tumwater, Washington, to begin a family.

Many knew Laura as their beloved lunch lady within the Tumwater School District but, to her family, she was the planner, the always aspiring crafter, head chef, mender of torn clothes, collector of books, and a passionate gardener. She held a special place in her heart for all creatures, but she loved hummingbirds the most, and took great care to cultivate a welcoming environment for her feathered friends.

She paid attention to the little things and would always make those around her feel like they mattered. Her memory of birthdays was unmatched, and she always took the time to write personalized letters and cards to her family and friends. Laura was funny, down-to-earth, and never shied away from giving her honest opinion. Laura was a beautiful person with a large heart, and she will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved her.

A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Laura is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael L. Logan; daughters, Lyndsey and Adrienne Logan; son, Matthew Logan, and his wife, Kayla; grandchildren, Zoey, Charlotte, and Korbin; sisters, Shauna Mercer, and Maria and Julie Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Douglas Lynn in 2021.

A private memorial service was held on June 2, 2023, at Masonic Memorial Park in Tumwater, Washington.

In Laura’s honor and memory, the family kindly asks that you support your local hummingbird community and hang a hummingbird feeder or plant a garden.
