Obituary of Betty Joann Matney

Betty Joann Matney passed away of natural causes on May 4, 2023, at home in Tenino, Washington, with family at her side.  She was a Tenino resident for 32 years. Betty was born July 27, 1933, to Buzz and Ida Overbeck at Fort Scott, Kansas.  She graduated high school in Elma, Washington.

Betty is survived by her sons, Bill Matney and Bob (Carrie) Matney; daughter, Ardra (Larry) Folston; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents, Buzz and Ida Overbeck; her husband, William “Bill” Matney; son, Bradley Matney; daughter, Carolyn Knight; daughter-in-law, Bev Matney; and grandson, Brandan Matney.

There will be a viewing on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Funeral Alternatives of Washington, 2830 Willamette Dr. NE, Lacey, WA 98516.  A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at McCleary Cemetery, 108 N 10^th St., McCleary, WA 98557.
