Obituary of Sally Jane Lewis

Sally Jane Lewis, age 80, passed away March 1, 2023, in Olympia, Washington.  She was born May 8, 1942, to Jasper and Genevieve Balkenende in Rudolph, Wisconsin. Her hometown was Longbranch, Washington, where most of her family still resides.  She married Jon Lewis in 1966, and then resided in Hoquiam, Washington, for 42 years before moving to Olympia in 2016 to be closer to family.

 

Sally loved being outdoors in the sun, gardening, camping, playing bingo, and going to the casino with family and friends for lunch and fun. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren all the same, with her whole heart. Over her life in Grays Harbor, she was employed as a Grays Harbor Realtor; worked for Trout Unlimited in Aberdeen; and later after retiring, was a cashier at the Dollar Store.

 

She is survived by her children, Larry Lewis (and Shawn), Cindy Lewis Hammell, Shaun Lewis (and Jennifer), and Tanna Lewis Knouse (and Woody); her seven grandchildren, BreAnn Lamborn, Jeremy Rowe, Nicole Morales, Aaron Rowe, Carson Lewis, Bryce Lewis and Billy Lewis; along with six great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her loving sisters, Susan Jopp, Jean Martin, and Molly Hunter.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Lewis.

 

A private service is planned for family and close friends.
