Obituary of Joseph Edwin Arnold

Joseph Edwin “Joe” Arnold, a lifelong resident of Olympia, Washington, died on November 22, 2022, at the age of 70.  He was born on November 23, 1951, and was one of seven children born to Clarence and Dorothy Arnold.

In 1967, Joe met Karen Kreger, fell in love and they were married on November 6, 1971, in Olympia.  Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army and became part of the 124th Maintenance Crew.  Shortly thereafter they started a family, complete with Todd, Justin, Ryan, Kimberly, Katti, and Taylor.  As a family, they loved camping, hunting, jeeping, and being in the woods.

Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Joe and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family and friends.  During his time in the Army, Joe and his family were stationed in Germany, Colorado, and Olympia.  He was honorably discharged in 1978.  Joe and Karen started Arnold's Yarding, since Joe's passion was logging.  He retired from logging in 2010 and found a new passion for building furniture at RT London.

Joseph Arnold is survived by his wife, Karen Kreger; his children, Todd Arnold (Tracy), Justin Arnold (Michelle), Ryan Arnold (Megan), Kimberly Arnold (Gerome), Katti Moore (Craig), Taylor Arnold; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Jimmy and Raymond; and his granddaughter, Allison.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Funeral Alternatives Lacey Chapel, 2830 Willamette Dr. NE, Lacey, WA 98516. There will be a Military Honor Ceremony on Monday, February 13, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.
