Obituary of David Allen Klaus

David Allen Klaus, 56, passed away of natural causes at home on January 4, 2023, in Littlerock, Washington. He was born June 22, 1966, to James Patrick Klaus and Sandra Kay (Shaw) Klaus in Lima, Ohio. Dave lived in the Littlerock/Rochester, Washington, area in the past 33 years, and prior to that in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

 

Dave graduated from Wapakoneta Senior High School in 1984 and received an AAS/ATA at a heating, air conditioning, refrigeration tech school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1986. He served in the U.S. Army from 1986 to August 1990 as a heavy equipment operator. He was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; USAG Darmstadt Army Base, Germany; and Ft. Lewis, Washington.

 

Dave met and married Kimberly Ann Bush on March 31, 1990, while stationed at Ft Lewis Army Base. Dave worked as a HVAC/R technician for 24 Hour Fitness, covering Washington and Oregon clubs for the past nine years.

 

He loved helping his mother and brothers on the family farm in Ohio, fishing, spoiling his fur babies, helping/fixing things for his friends, spending time with family, and having a weekly Black Velvet and Pepsi with his friends.

 

Dave is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ann (Bush) Klaus of Littlerock; son, Darrin Allen Klaus of Tumwater, Washington; daughter, Elizabeth Kay Ann Klaus of Littlerock; mother, Sandra Kay (Shaw) Klaus of Wapakoneta; brothers, Tim (Julie) Klaus of North Carolina, Ron (Nan) Klaus of Wapakoneta, and John (Kendra) Klaus of Wapakoneta; sisters, Becky (Dale) Dicus of Wapakoneta, and Susie (Scott) Lovejoy of Lima; brother-in-law, Mike Thompson of Bellefontaine, Ohio; several aunts and uncles in Ohio; and 17 nieces and nephews mostly midwest Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, James P. Klaus; and sister, Leanne Thompson.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life soon in Washington and also one Ohio in the springtime.
