George, my dear husband, had so many wonderful qualities. He was a good friend to all who knew him and a surprisingly considerate companion. As I look around my lonely house now I see so many gifts of his kindness and it breaks my heart to realize he'll never be here with me again. We were together every day in our retirement, staying home, enjoying our pets and our own comfort. We knew his health was declining over these past couple of years and he made sure I was prepared for when he'd be gone. Bless his heart for that kindness.
Many friends remember him best for his off-beat sense of humor. No one could tell a story or joke quite so well as George. And he remembered every detail of every story which enabled him to call up the most appropriate memory for the moment. His mind was so quick. He often surprised his six brothers with stories from their years growing up...he was the only one who remembered every crazy detail. The stories were endless and we will all morn the loss of his humor.
George was good at keeping life real in almost any situation. He often grounded me when I'd feel overwhelmed, He wholeheartedly supported my endeavors, especially supporting my horse habit. He introduced my to many good books and movies. I depended on him as my number one love. George, you will forever be missed.
