Obituary of Royal A. Drath

Royal A. Drath passed away October 11, 2022, in Belfair, Washington, his residence of 16 years.  He was born December 4, 1933, to Garrett and Lillian Drath in Puyallup, Washington. 

 

Royal “Munk” graduated from Puyallup High School, served in the U.S. Army, and was a cabinet builder by trade.  He married Sarah on November 16, 1956, in Puyallup, and attended St. Nicholas Community Episcopal Church in Tahuya, Washington.

 

Royal was a man of integrity who loved his family and cared deeply for his wife, Sarah, for more than 65 years. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and his unique ways.

 

Royal is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; daughters, Linda Lorring (Paul), Sherri Smith (Bob), Julie McGinn (Dan), Lori Rowe (Mike); 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Community Episcopal Church, 15000 NE North Shore Road, Tahuya, WA 98588.  Donations in memory of Royal may be made to the church or a charity of choice.
