Obituary of Samuel Lee Porter

Samuel Lee Porter, 55, passed away August 29, 2022, in Olympia, Washington.  He was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in the area. 

 

Sam had his first child, a son, Christopher Porter.  He then married the love of his life, Christine, and had his second son, Sammy Porter Jr. He moved his family to Washington to follow his dreams and goals to become the owner of a successful business around the Thurston County area. This changed the pace of his life, and he worked very hard providing for his family. He loved being a husband and father, and living his dream. They were thriving.

 

He also loved low-riders, especially Impalas.  He owned two, which he treated like his babies.

 

Sam was very into sports and encouraged his sons to participate in and follow sports as well. He was a die-hard follower of the LA Lakers, LA Rams, and LA Dodgers.  A huge fan of Kobe Bryant (even naming his dog buddy Kobe), Sam loved attending Laker games and providing his family with the opportunity to meet Bryant several times.  This was a highlight of their shared sports experiences.   

 

Sam succeeded at everything he put his heart into. Family was his most important success.  He brought much laughter, joy and good times to their togetherness.  They created many wonderful memories that will live on and provide encouragement in coming years.

 

Sam will be truly missed.  There isn’t a day that he isn’t thought about.

He leaves behind two sons, Samuel Lee d’Angelo Porter and Christopher Lee Reyes Porter; and his beloved wife, Christine Porter Urquidez.
