Obituary of Michael Aaron Bishop

Michael Aaron Bishop, born on July 25,1970, passed away on September 29, 2022. Michael was born in Glennallen, Alaska, to Clifford Bishop and Barbara Toler. Most of his childhood and adolescent years were spent between Alaska, Oklahoma, and Arizona. Michael did a short stint in the U.S. Navy before landing himself back in Alaska as a young adult.

Michael had many years in Alaska driving a semi-truck up the pipeline haul road (or road to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska). Over the years, Michael had acquired specialty driving/delivery certifications that led him and his wife out of Alaska. For the past two years, he was a chemical delivery specialist in Naperville, Illinois, where he resided with his wife. Michael had the wonderful opportunity to spend a short duration working on the Island of Hawaii, where he nurtured a handful of amazing bonds and valuable experiences.

His true passion was working on and customizing Harley Davidson motorcycles. Michael held a Harley Davidson technician certification through MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institution) that gave him the skill set to do astounding and truly breathtaking works of art. He also loved to be standing in a stream casting the fly rod. He had a witty sense of humor and was always thinking of stand-up material that he said one day he would use. Michael had a knack to broaden his horizons with his profound vocabulary and would subtly learn and utilize a new word a day. If you didn’t find him doing any of this, then he would be out riding whatever road his two wheels found. He was an extremely advanced motorcyclist that loved doing burnouts or just riding for endless hours.

Anyone who knew Michael, knew he was a big-hearted man who would give anything and loved when he could make someone smile or laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Sun; step-children, Alexis (Lajiness), Asher (Lajiness); mother-in-law, Sandy Sivets; brother, Clifford III; sister, Cathy; sister, Sally (husband Earl Smith); brother, Bruce (wife, Trina); brother, Timothy (wife, Dianna); step-sister, Deborah (husband, Richard Schultz); step-brother, Andrew Ford: sister-in-law, Sheri (husband Chad Petrie); brother-in-law, Peter Sivets (wife, Carmel); sister-in-law, Stacey (husband, Philip Guzman); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara (Toler) Sholty; father, Clifford Bishop Jr.; father-in-law, Richard Sivets; and many other family members.

Michael was loved deeply and will be missed dearly. His wife, Sun, step-children and immediate family will hold a private service to lay his ashes to rest in the Bishop family plot.
