Obituary of Scott Donley

Scott Donley passed away September 18, 2022, in Tumwater, Washington.  He was born April 19, 1952, to DeWayne Donley and Patricia Smith in Los Angeles County, California.  A resident of University Place, Washington, for over 40 years, he also resided in several California cities.

 

Scott graduated from Biggs High School in California.  Professionally, he worked for Weyerhaeuser, and retired from Super Value (formerly West Coast Grocery) after more than 20 years. 

 

Scott made friends wherever he was and could talk for hours with family and friends.  He also was willing to help others whenever needed.  He read several books a month, enjoyed playing with computers, and really enjoyed photography. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and hiking.  He also spent a lot of time woodworking.  He was a member of the Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club.

 

Scott is survived by his daughter, Shawna Peterson of Colorado; sister, Pamela Skelton of Arizona; half-sister, Kelley Moore of Washington; mother, Patricia Smith of Washington; as well as his niece and nephews, Jodi Negrete, Timothy Chipman, Joseph Chipman and their families, all of Washington. He was predeceased by his father, DeWayne Donley of California.
