Obituary of James Paul Thompson

James Paul Thompson died September 12, 2022.   He was born to Christine and Paul Thompson in Chicago, Illinois, and was a beloved brother to Nita Renn and Johnny Thompson (decreased), and Judy Hurley (surviving).  James was a devoted husband of 54 years to Janet Thompson, and loving father to Gwen Thompson.

 

James served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and is a Purple Heart recipient. He was an elementary teacher in the Yelm School District for 40 years and has touched many young heart and minds.

 

James will be missed and remembered for his humor, love for his family and friends, appreciation of the outdoors, and his passion for teaching.
