Obituary of Larry Kenneth Simpson

Larry Kenneth Simpson was born June 15, 1936, in Pullman, Washington, to parents Alfred G. Simpson and Ada McInturff. He attended elementary and junior high school in nearby Blaine, Washington, before the family moved to Spokane, Washington, where he graduated from North Central High School. He then attended Clark County Community College in Vancouver, Washington, before a brief stint in the U.S. Navy, after which he was an Occupation Salesman for several food-related companies, most notably S&W.  He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. He died August 17, 2022, in Lacey, Washington.

Larry was an avid WSU Cougars fan, and also loved watching football, basketball and baseball on TV and in person when possible. He had a love of reading, and read several newspapers daily. He was a very informed and knowledgeable person on many subjects. He loved dogs, gardening, and fishing.

He was a witty, personable, kind, and caring man to all he knew.

Larry was a wonderful and loving father to three children, grandfather to five and great-grandfather to three. He was a loving, devoted, giving son, and brother to three siblings. He always had time for others, and was a caring and supportive friend to many.

Larry was a dedicated partner to his significant other, Betty Hanson, for over 19 years, as she was to him.

Larry will be dearly missed, and always lovingly remembered by his surviving family and friends.

He requested no funeral or memorial.
