Obituary of Ronald M. Wisner

Ron Wisner was born January 11, 1950, in Chehalis, Washington. He passed away from cancer on May 8, 2022, in Mossyrock, Washington, at the age of 72.  He was raised in Adna, Washington, and graduated from White Pass High School. He married Nona Tracey. 

 

Ron worked in the mills and gravel pits, and was a milker on several dairy farms in Washington and Alaska.  He also worked at Grays Harbor Conservation District, Chehalis Walmart, and True Value in Benson, Arizona.  He retired in 2020.

 

In his spare time, Ron did many things, including working with horses in 4-H, taking people on Outdoor Ways survival guided hunting trips, creating Hunters United, teaching hunters’ education, and writing a guidebook on wilderness survival and plant identification.

 

Ron’s witty since of humor and storytelling were always amazing. He enjoyed many things in life, including being in nature whether it was just going for a drive in the woods or camping, fishing, hunting, picking berries, harvesting chanterelle mushrooms, and making up snipe hunts with his kids and grandkids. 

 

Ron is survived by his wife, three sons, five daughters, 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a brother, two sisters, three nieces, and five nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, two sisters-in-law, two nephews, and a great-granddaughter.

 

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Rd., Chehalis, WA 98532.
